Welcome to Aspen Impact! Our team guides clients to achieve brighter futures. We combine traditional business skills with creative idea generation techniques. Through the projects we do together with businesses and nonprofits, we bring exciting and transformational solutions to communities in Indiana and cities across the globe.
In 2003, Bryan created Aspen Impact. He leads strategic planning projects, coaches executives and boards, teaches management skills, and designs service experiences and brand identities for clients. Much of this work occurs behind the scenes, but you may see the results among the thriving schools and universities, arts groups, urban gardens, greenways, health initiatives, foundations, churches, and professional service firms in your community. This wide range of clients benefits from Aspen Impact's practical and aspirational combination of strategy + management + design expertise.
Bryan draws upon a background in entrepreneurship, business consulting, and nonprofit leadership. He has developed education and health care enterprises in Hong Kong, Indianapolis, and Toronto; designed media, retail, and digital technology solutions as a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers; directed a nonprofit outreach and community service network at Harvard; and guided the design and oversight of new schools in the Midwest and Boston. He has served as a board member, program officer, and management and strategy advisor for entities across the United States and abroad, including the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City in Boston; the Social Enterprise Institute at Harvard Business School; Acumen, a global social impact investor; the Indianapolis Mayor's Office; the Indiana Youth Institute; the Indiana Sports Corp.; and a new medical care foundation in San Diego, among others.
While leadership of Aspen Impact is his full-time passion, Bryan also teaches design thinking and visual communications as an adjunct professor at Indiana University’s Herron School of Art and Design. He enjoys fun and intriguing conversations and projects with his creative and thoughtful students. Bryan also travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts, several times annually as a member of the Board of Directors for the Harvard Alumni Association. This position brings with it colorful academic ceremonies, an insider's view on Harvard's $6.5 billion fundraising campaign, and lively strategy sessions to envision the future of education on campus and worldwide.
Education and Avocations
Lifelong learning is important to Aspen Impact’s team. Bryan studied economics, business, education, and social policy, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UCLA, the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, and Harvard University. In Indianapolis, he completed the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series as a member of Class XXXVII. During his much-appreciated slivers of free time, Bryan builds skills and perspectives on civic issues, design thinking, and social innovation through groups such as Leadership Indianapolis, the Design Management Institute, Acumen, HarvardX, MITx, and the European and Asian Venture Philanthropy Associations. He tries to make it to the gym or a biking trail, but many days that is just wishful thinking!
